Third and Final part: Former Sea Shepherd member speaks out

This is the third and final part - where I have spoken to a former Sea Shepherd member about his/her part in the organisation. The former member wants to remain anonymous and I intend it stays that way ...

Read Part I HERE and Part II HERE

5. Did anyone from Sea Shepherd (at the time) ask themself: "Well - the whale is sustainable ... maybe we should'nt be so hard on them ?!?"

No, nobody was thinking like that. You know, they realy did their best to scare their volunteers. So nobody realy dare to talk to local people ... So, there are few volunteers who discovered the truth about your country and the way of live. So when there stopped a car near ours, we were on the alert. It realy was a little funny, we started to laugh with ourselves. So, we went out to speak with people who wanted to speak with us and then we discovered all the lies of SS. We asked ourselves this question later on the campaign. It's just the money, you know. And there was one guy from Mexico and he was there to get away from home. He told us stories about how dangerous it was in Mexico, in the area he lived. So, there were some people who just came on vacation. One evening we saw some Dolphins near the coast and we told this to the volunteers and almost nobody got excited about it! Can you imagine? They come to save the whales, but they aren't interested to see them ..!

6. How come you are now a former member of the SS - What went wrong (right) ?!?

The way they treat people, they're full of hatred. If you're not aggressive anough, you're not good enough for them. They don't realy except you, they don't listen to you. So, there's no working together. It goes in one direction ... The lies they spread around, getting short on the knowledge about whales! They dear to bring out that a humpback whale doesn't eat fish! Sometimes you don't know what you get to hear. It's realy amateuristic sometimes. They realy believe that people are stupid, well most of them are. The kind of people they attract, no not the kind of people we want to become friends with most of the time. It says a lot about this organization. We were forced to step out, we were accused of wanting to take over. The director was convinced that we wanted to take her place. We were accused of the 'fact' that we went on campaign for ourselves. That we went to the Faroe Islands to get in the picture, ... We only spoke about us during a stall of SS. None of this was true offcourse. But the very worst thing was that the director said that nobody wanted to work with us anymore. She named a doctor who I was friend with, so I sent her a message to ask her about it. She reacted furious and asked me where I heard this big lie. I told her the story, so it wasn't true. SS lies to get people right where they want them ... They try to push you against the wall, but they couldn't do it with us. We have recorded the whole conversation with her lying loud and clear. So, they are a little affraid off us here in Belgium, that's another thing why we're not affraid to come out. They can't harm us anymore, we stepped out of it. But most of the big names that were thrown out, won't come out with their dirty story ... Hope you can do something with these facts.

I would like to thank the former member for telling faroese people and the rest of the world this story. And I going to wish you all the best in the world. This has surely been one of the best Sea Shepherd article I have ever written. Once again - thank's and I hope to see you some day - when you come back to visit us in the Faroe Islands.
