Hi Eveyone
A few very important things that you need to know and discuss with your teams where applicable:
The police have made it very clear that we can possible be arrested just on intent to brake the law. Now what that means is that they say if we say out loud that we will intervene with a grind, then they can arrest us.
So please tell all crew that it is extremely important NOT to say that to anyone in the public (outside SSCS). We know we will intervene but we should not say that to anybody because that can get us arrested – especially since we have been informed that there are a lot of military in civilian clothes that might come talk as a friendly talk and record you saying that we will intervene. So, to be safe – the fact that we will intervene when a grind occurs SHOULD NOT BE TOLD TO ANYBODY EXCEPT KNOWN FELLOW SSCS.
There are a few media crews on the Islands. The approved media crews that are allowed to talk to you at this stage is the German Media group called ARD, VICE media and a guy called Mike. Even having said that it is very important to keep contacting me if any media approach you , so that I can check whether they are approved to be talking to you or not. VERY important and important to tell ALL your crew is that if they talk to ANY media, they can only talk about their experience while volunteering for SSCS. NOT allowed to talk any strategies, the fact that we will intervene or make any official statements on behalf of SSCS.
We need to come up with a few more ideas and plans to create chaos on the beaches – chat with your crew and send me the feasible ideas to investigate. Obviously nothing that can be harmful towards the Faroese people. The police are trained and ready for us, so we have to also try and come up with some strategies to create chaos on the beaches.
Please divide your volunteers (if possible) that there is always a person willing to do something on each team. We can’t have a team of only people not willing to do something/cameraman on a specific beach and then a grind happened and then SSCS looks like they are not doing something (As Paul always say – if you say something, you have to do it/follow though because otherwise you endanger the people coming after you in the activism field)
We have to be VERY vigilant checking for whales the coming days (also the early 4-8am shifts on Sandoy and Suduroy and Torshavn and Klaksvik's newly implemented earlier hours at sensitive fjords. Bastien will provide the information for these 1 day ahead). Call me if any of this is unclear. We are hearing rumours that they want to grind in August, so we have to be so vigilant and ready. Our action plans must be ready and ALL crew aware of them and they must know what is expected of each and every one of them, if a grind does occur
Thank you guys…I will be visiting all teams again this week – might be a bit later this week because of Pamela Anderson coming. We are waiting her exact schedule.
Please phone me if ANY of the above is unclear of if you have any questions.
Have a great afternoon
Rosie
We will show you much more emails from Sea Shepherd tomorrow and the day after that ... so stay tuned, folk's!
